Advancing Technical Education and Skills Development in Bulacan

On March 7, 2024, the Bulacan State University – College of Information and Communication Technology (CICT) Building’s Ideation Room served as the venue for a significant gathering between representatives from TESDA Korea-Philippines Information Technology Training Center and Bulacan State University-CICT. With a shared goal of advancing technical education and skills development in Bulacan, the meeting aimed to explore potential collaboration opportunities between the two esteemed institutions. Present at the meeting were key figures from both sides, including the Center Administrator-Ms. Kathrine R. Angeles, Vocational Instruction Supervisor-Prof. Christine Irish Castillo, and partnership focal-Ms. Rizzalynne C. Molina from TESDA KorPhil, alongside the Dean of CICT – Dr. Digna Evale and Program Chairs from different CICT Programs.

The meeting aimed to explore collaboration opportunities to enhance technical education offerings and expand outreach efforts in response to the increasing enrollment for TESDA Certified courses in Bulacan specifically with IT Programs. Throughout the discussion, potential areas of collaboration such as scholarship programs, collaborative research, exchange opportunities, employment connections, curriculum development, and expertise exchange were explored. The meeting marked the beginning of an exciting journey towards fostering synergy in technical education and skills development, with a shared vision of empowering Filipino learners and contributing to national development.
