DRT Reformists Undergo Training in Motorcycle Repair and Maintenance
Reformists of the Dona Remedios Trinidad, Bulacan are now undergoing skills training on Motorcycle Repair and Maintenance at the DRT Municipal Covered Court. Dubbed as Kasanayan Program for the Drug Surrenderees, this is a joint undertaking of the DRT- Philippine National Police and TESDA Bulacan, with assistance from the Local Government Unit of DRT under the leadership of Mayor Ronaldo T. Flores and Vice- Mayor Hilario J. Cruz. A total of 27 individuals have started their training yesterday, November 3, 2016. This includes the reformists and other interested constituents of the municipality.
In the Opening Program held last November 3, 2016, PCI Isagani E. Santos III expressed his thanks to the Sangguniang Bayan headed by Vice Mayor Cruz for allocating funds in co- sponsoring the training program for the reformists while Vice Mayor Cruz on the other hand, expressed his full support for this program of the government and thanked TESDA for co- sponsoring the program. Under this training cooperation, LGU and PNP- DRT provides for the honorarium of the trainer while TESDA Bulacan ensures quality of training delivery by assigning a qualified Community Based Trainer and provides for the supplies and materials to be used in the training as well as the provision of assessment and certification services for the would- be graduates. PD Grace Corazon Castillo on the other hand, sought the cooperation of the reformists in making the most of the training program so that it could serve as a source of livelihood. She stressed that motorcycles are now becoming a popular means of transportation and the need for motorcycle mechanics is thus increasing. PNP PCI Joy Placido, the incoming Chief of Police of DRT expressed his continuous support to the program.
After the training, the graduates will be subjected to competency assessment and successful candidates will receive their National Certificate.
