EMERGENCY SKILLS TRAINING NG TESDA SINIMULAN NA
Pormal nang sinimulan ng Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) ang Emergency Skills Training Program (TESTP) na layuning makapagbigay ng kasanayan sa iba’t-ibang sektor ng lipunan kabilang na dito ang mga nagsiuwing Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs).
Napag-alaman kay TESDA Director General, Secretary Guiling “Gene” Mamondiong na noong May 1 ng kasalukuyan taon nang simulan ng naturang ahensiya ang pagtanggap ng aplikasyon mula sa mga gustong mapabilang sa TESTP.
Sa pamamagitan ng programang ito ay mabibigyan ng oportunidad ang mga mapasasama sa TESTP na magkaroon ng sapat na kasanayan na magagamit ng mga ito sa kanilang paghahanap ng maayos na pagkakakitaan.
“With this program, we will give the most suitable tech-voc training to our countrymen who have found themselves in difficult times and give them a better shot at finding profitable jobs or the skills to start their own businesses”, sabi pa ni Mamondiong.
Bukod sa mga OFWs ay kabilang din sa mga mabibigyan ng prayoridad na mapasama sa naturang programa ay ang mga kaanak ng mga miyembro ng AFP at PNP na nasawi at nasugatan sa labanan; mga pamilyang apektado ng kaguluhan; pamilya ng mga traffic enforcers ng MMDA; mga nagsisukong drug dependents at kanilang pamilya; informal settlers at iba pa.
“We will make these opportunities available to those sectors that we consider to be vulnerable, so that they may find the strength to get back on their feet, recover from their situation, and once again be productive members of our society”, dagdag pa ng kalihim.
Kabilang naman sa mga training na ipagkakaloob sa TESTP ay ang motorcycle/small engine servicing; prepare cold meals; solar lamps assembly; nihonggo language; hilot (wellness massage); carpentry; process food by salting, curing and smoking at maintain and repair audio/video products.
Bukod sa libreng skills training ay ipagkakaloob din ng TESDA sa mga mapalad na mapabibilang sa naturang programa ang free assessment and certification, free starter kit at allowance sa kabuuan ng training program. ###

TESDA BEGINS EMERGENCY SKILLS TRAINING
The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) has started its Emergency Skills Training Program (TESTP) aimed at people from all walks of life, including overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) who have settled in the country.
TESDA Director General, Secretary Guiling “Gene” Mamondiong said that TESDA started to accept the application forms of those who wished to be part of TESP since May 1.
“With this program, we will give the most suitable tech-voc training to our countrymen who have found themselves in difficult times and give them a better shot at finding profitable jobs or the skills to start their own businesses,” said Mamondiong.
Apart from OFWs, among those who will be prioritized in the TESTP are immediate family members and relatives of members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines and Philippine National Police who died in the line of duty; family members affected by armed conflicts; family members of MMDA traffic enforcers; drug dependents who have changed and their families; informal settlers, etc.
