Mt. Mayon evacuees sasanayin  sa iba’t ibang pangkabuhayan ng  TESDA

Sasanayin  ng Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA)-Region 5  sa paggawa ng face masks at iba pang mga livelihood program  ang mga evacuees  sa Malilipot, Albay na apektado nang pag-aalburuto ng Bulkang Mayon.

Sa darating na Lunes, January 29 ay  sisimulan na ang  limang araw na face masks training  sa dalawang evacuation sa  San Francisco Elementary Schools (SFES) at Malilipot Elementary School (MES), ayon kay Mariglo Sese, Regional Operation chief- TESDA Region 5

Ang SFES ay   ginawang evacuation center para sa may 3,000 evacuees mula sa Barangay Calbayog at Brgy.  San Roque  habang ang MES ay ginawa namang evacuation center para sa  mga bakwet mula sa  Brgy. Tugawe.

Ani Sese,  pipili  ang TESDA ng 25 evacueees sa SFES na siyang sasanayin sa pagagawa ng face masks   para sa pansariling gamit ng mga evacuees habang sa  MES ang Special Training for Employment Program (STEP) graduates ang gagawa tig-50 face masks bawat  isa na ibibigay naman sa mga tauhan ng pulis at military sa Camp Ola.

Samantala, nakipag-ugnayan na ang TESDA  sa mga local government units sa lugar para makipagtulungan sa ilulunsad na livelihood training programs sa darating na Sabado  para sa mga evacuees sa layuning matulungan ang mga ito na kumita habang nanatili sa mga evacuation center.

Kabilang sa mga target nila na mabigyan ng pangkabuhayan ang mga bakwet  na 18-anyos pataas at ang pagsasanay ay gagawin tuwing araw ng Sabado at Linggo dahil walang pasok ang mga mag-aaral.

Kasama sa mga inaalok na training ay ang manicure, pedicure, massage, breadmaking at mask making.

TESDA gives livelihood training to Mayon evacuees

The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA)-Region 5  will provide livelihood training programs to the evacuees of Mount Mayon, including teaching them how to make face masks.

Mariglo Sese, Regional Operations chief, TESDA Region 5, said that the face masks training will begin on Monday, January 29, with five training sessions to be conducted at the evacuation centers at San Francisco Elementary Schools (SFES) and Malilipot Elementary School (MES)

Some 3,000 evacuees from barangays Calbayog and San Roque have been temporarily sheltered at the SFES while Mayon victims from barangay Tugawe are temporarily staying at MES.

Sese said that TESDA selected 25 evacuees from SFES who would benefit from the face mask program which will be then distributed to evacuees. On the other hand, graduates of the Special Training for Employment Program (STEP) will produce 50 face mask each during training at the MES. Later, the finished products would be distributed to policemen and soldiers at Camp Ola.

TESDA has already coordinated with the local government units in areas where the livelihood training programs will be launched.

Sese also said that TESDA will teach Bicolanos ages 18 and above during the training which will be held on weekends while there are no classes.

Aside from making face masks, other training programs include manicure, pedicure, massage, and bread-making.

Sese also said that the TESDA programs aims to provide livelihood to Bicol residents so that they could still earn a living during crisis.
