TESDA Bulacan Hosts Successful Training of Trainers on 21st Century Skills to Enhance TVET Education
On February 20, 2025, TESDA Bulacan, in collaboration with the Bulacan Association of Technical Vocational Schools (BATVS), conducted a Training of Trainers (TOT) on Work Readiness Module on 21st Century Skills at the TESDA-Bulacan Provincial Office, RSDC Compound, Tabang, Guiguinto, Bulacan. The program aimed to equip trainers with essential skills and innovative teaching strategies to enhance the quality of education and training delivery in technical-vocational institutions.
The event commenced with a warm welcome from the undersigned, Provincial Director Ms. Melanie Grace T. Romero. In her opening remarks, she expressed her enthusiasm for the initiative and underscored the importance of the training in strengthening the competencies of trainers. She emphasized that by upskilling trainers and making them 21st century skills-ready, the quality of education provided to learners would be significantly improved, ultimately contributing to the advancement of the technical-vocational sector.
The Training of Trainers (TOT) was facilitated by three distinguished experts: Mr. Jian Carlo Castillo, Dr. Rosemarie S. Guirre, and Ms. Janet Bongat. Their extensive knowledge and experience enriched the training, providing participants with valuable insights into 21st century skills and teaching methodologies and strategies for fostering critical thinking and adaptability among learners.
A total of 100 participants from Bulacan and nearby provinces from Region III and NCR attended the intensive five-day training session. Throughout the program, they engaged in interactive discussions, hands-on activities, and collaborative learning experiences, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of modern teaching practices. At the end of the training, participants were awarded certificates of completion, signifying their readiness to apply their newly acquired skills in their respective institutions.
The success of the Training of Trainers (TOT) program reflects the unwavering commitment of TESDA Bulacan and BATVS to continuous professional development in the TVET sector. By empowering trainers with relevant and forward-thinking methodologies, the initiative contributes to the overall improvement of skills training and workforce readiness.
