TESDA KorPhil Bulacan and BulSU Seal MOA for Research and Technical Collaboration

The ceremonial signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between TESDA Korea-Philippines Information Technology Training Center Bulacan, and Bulacan State University was successfully held on May 20, 2025, at the Teleconference, 5F, Bulacan State University (BulSU) E-library. The event aimed to formalize the partnership for technical assistance, collaborative research, exchange opportunities & practice of various expertise, employment opportunities & assistance to successful graduates, curriculum & learning materials review and/or development, and was attended by representatives and officials from both organizations. The signing marks a significant milestone in fostering collaboration and achieving shared objectives.

The program began with preliminary activities shown on an AVP, followed by a welcome message from the representative of Engr. Al Justin S. Geronimo, Director for Development and Innovation. Dr. Joseline M. Santos, Director of the Research Management Division, delivered the statement of purpose of the partnership.

The highlight of the event was the official signing of the MOA by RD Baron Jose L. Lagran from TESDA Region III, witnessed by Ms. Kathrine R. Angeles, TESDA KorPhil Bulacan Center Administrator, and Dr. Keno C. Piad, BulSU Research Extension and Innovation Vice President. A photo opportunity for all signatories and witnesses followed the signing.

The event continued with messages from RD Lagran and Dr. Piad, who both expressed great optimism for the collaboration’s success and elaborated on the positive outcomes expected for faculty, TVET trainers and assessors, officials, and students/learners within both organizations. RD Lagran aims to transform TESDA KorPhil Bulacan into an exemplary ICT institution, making it a model not just for Bulacan but for all of Region 3. Dr. Piad reflected that the University started to embed AI in its curriculum. This could be a great foundation for initial projects with TESDA KorPhil Bulacan, particularly in collaborative research.

The event concluded after the closing message from Dr. Rosemarie M. Bautista, Director of Extension Services. Also present in the ceremonial MOA signing were TESDA KorPhil Bulacan Partnership & Linkages Focal Ms. Rizzalynne C. Molina, Executive Assistant to the TESDA 3 Regional Director Ms. Andrea Mae A. Merced, and representatives from each college.
