2nd TVET Forum on Filipino Brand of Service Excellence Held in Bulacan
On July 4, 2025, the 2nd TVET Forum on Filipino Brand of Service Excellence (FBSE) Training in Bulacan was successfully conducted at the Merryland Integrated Farm and Training Center, Inc., Taal, Pulilan, Bulacan. The forum brought together administrators and representatives from various Technical Vocational Institutions (TVIs) across the province. This initiative was facilitated by TESDA Bulacan and the Bulacan Association of Technical Vocational Schools (BATVS), in collaboration with the Department of Tourism (DOT) Region III.
The primary objectives of the activity were to deepen participants’ understanding of excellent customer service skills, enhance effective communication techniques, and equip them with strategies for handling customer concerns in the TVET and tourism sectors. The forum was designed not only to strengthen service quality among training providers but also to align TVET efforts with the standards of Filipino hospitality and service excellence.
BATVS President Mr. Edgardo R. Santiago opened the event by welcoming the participants and encouraging active engagement throughout the training. TESDA Bulacan Supervising TESD Specialist Ms. Daisy C. Superior followed with an inspiring message, highlighting the relevance of FBSE training in raising service standards and providing a dynamic learning experience for all participants.
The core of the forum was the comprehensive FBSE Training facilitated by DOT-accredited speaker, Dr. Jay Aquino. He effectively delivered the four key modules: (1) The Philippine Tourism Industry Situation and the FBSE Journey; (2) The 7M’s of Filipino Hospitality and Service Excellence in Tourism; (3) The GUEST Steps to Service Excellence; and (4) The Heart of Service Recovery. Dr. Aquino’s engaging presentation left a lasting impact on attendees, enriching their knowledge and instilling in them a renewed appreciation for quality service and hospitality.
Additionally, TESDA Bulacan’s Assessment Focal, Mr. Clark Rossmon E. Silvestre, provided updates on the conduct of competency assessments, accreditation of senior high schools as assessment centers, and the process for designating assessment venues. EBT Focal, Ms. Ann Janette E. Dela Cruz, also shared insights on the Enterprise-Based Education and Training (EBET) Implementing Guidelines, emphasizing TESDA’s efforts in bridging skills development with industry needs.
Overall, the 2nd TVET Forum on FBSE served as a valuable platform to elevate the quality of customer service in the TVET sector. With the active participation of TVIs and the support of key stakeholders, the event successfully reinforced the principles of service excellence and fostered a collective commitment to promote the Filipino brand of service excellence in education and training delivery.
