INMATES SA 100 KULUNGAN SA BANSA BIBIGYAN NG SKILLS TRAINING NG TESDA

Magiging malawakan na ang gagawing pagtulong ng Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) sa mga nakapiit sa municipal at city jail sa buong bansa sa pamamagitan ng pagbibigay ng skills training na magagamit ng mga ito sa kanilang pagbabagong buhay.

Ayon kay TESDA Director General, Secretary Guiling “Gene” Mamondiong, aabot sa isandaang (100) kulungan sa buong bansa ang dadayuhn ng kanilang ahensiya upang makapagbigay ng sapat na kasanayan sa mga inmates.

Aniya, ang pagbibigay ng skills training sa mga inmates sa buong bansa ay bilang bahagi ng nilagdaang Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) sa pagitan ng TESDA at ng Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) na layuning mabigyan ng pagkakataon ang mga inmates upang makapagbagong buhay sa kanilang pagbabalik sa malayang lipunan.

Kabilang sa mga kurso na maaaring kunin ng mga inmates ay ang Front Office Services NC 2; Customer Service NC 2; Barista NC 2; HEO Forklift NC 2; Automotive Servicing NC 1; Food Processing NC 3; Hilot Wellness Massage NC 2; Motorcycle/Small Engine Services NC 2; Bread and Pastry NC 2; Nail Care NC 2; Massage Therapy NC 2; Beauty Care NC 2; Housekeeping NC 3; Organic Agriculture NC 2; Animal Production NC 2 at Cookery NC 2.

Maging ang pamilya ng mga inmates sa buong bansa ay bibigyan din ng TESDA ng skills training nang sa gayon ay makakuha ng pagkakakitaan ang mga ito habang ang kanilang mga mahal sa buhay ay hindi pa tuluyang nakalalaya.

Matatandaan na noong December 6 na nakalipas na taon nang lagdaan ni Mamondiong at ni BJMP Chief, Jail/Director Serafin Barretto, Jr. ang MOA para mabigyan ng skills training ang mga inmates habang noong January 9, 2017 nang ilunsad sa Makati City Jail ang programa na tinawag na Integration Through Skills Development.

Noong February 24 ng kasalukuyang taon naman nang mabigyan ng TESDA ng National Certificate (NC) ang dalawang-daan at labing-isang (211) inmates mula sa Makati City Jail matapos silang makakuha ng skills training at makapasa sa isinagawang assessment, bago ito ay nagtungo din ang grupo ni Mamondiong sa Puerto Princesa City Jail para magbigay ng kasanayan sa mga nakakulong nating kababayan.

Samantala, inatasan na ni Mamondiong ang lahat ng regional at provincial director ng TESDA na makipag-ugnayan sa mga kulungan na nasa kanilang lugar upang mabilis na maipatupad ang programang ito. ###

TESDA TO GIVE FREE TRAINING TO INMATES NATIONWIDE

Some 100 inmates in municipal and city jails nationwide will be given skills training by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).

TESDA Director General, Secretary Guiling “Gene” Mamondiong said that the teaching of skills training for inmates is part of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signed between TESDA and the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP).

Among the courses which the inmates could avail of include Front Office Services NC2; Customer Service NC2; Barista NC2; HEO Forklift NC2; Automotive Servicing NC1; Food Processing NC3; Hilot Wellness Massage NC2; Motorcycle/Small Engine Services NC2; Bread and Pastry NC2; Nail Care NC2; Massage Therapy NC2; Beauty Care NC2; Housekeeping NC3; Organic Agriculture NC2; Animal Production NC2 and Cookery NC2.

Even the family members of the inmates may avail of the free skills training program offered by TESDA.

It would be recalled that Mamondiong and BJMP Chief, Jail/Director Serafin Barretto, Jr. signed the MOA last December 6, 2016. On January 9, the skills training project kicked off at the Makati City Jail in consonance with the Integration Through Skills Development program.

Last February 24, a total of 211 inmates received the National Certificate (NC) from TESDA after they finished their skills training and eventually passed its assessment.

Mamondiong ordered all regional and provincial directors of TESDA to coordinate with their respective jail bureaus and enlist the inmates qualified for the skill training program. ###
