TESDA EMERGENCY SKILLS TRAINING PROGRAM ILULUNSAD
Upang higit pang matulungan ang mga nagsiuwing Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) ay ilulunsad ng Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) ang “Emergency Skills Training Program.
Ayon kay TESDA Director General, Secretary Guiling “Gene” Mamondiong, simula sa May 1 ng kasalukuyan taon ay maaari nang magsumite ng aplikasyon ang mga returning OFWs upang makakuha ng libreng skills training.
Bukod sa returning OFWs ay kabilang din sa mabibigyan ng prayoridad ang mga drug dependents at kanilang pamilya, kaanak ng mga nasawi at nasugatan sundalo at pulis, kaanak ng mga traffic enforcers at iba pang marginalized sectors.
Kabilang sa mga inisyal na kurso na ipagkakaloob ng TESDA para sa launching ng emergency skills training sa May 31 ay ang service engine mechanical components, carpentry, masonry, maintain and repair audio/video products and systems at process food by salting, curing and smoking.
Bukod dito, kabilang din sa mga ipagkakaloob na training programs ng TESDA ang cookery, welding, plumbing, electrical installation maintenance at bus/straight truck driving na ilan lamang sa mga kurso na maaaring ibigay depende sa kapasidad ng operating units ng ahensiya.
“In consonance with this, all Regional and Provincial Training Centers including TESDA Administered Schools are directed to maintain a skeletal force to accept applicants to the said program starting May, 1, 2017 (Labor Day)”, nakasaad pa sa ipinalabas na Memorandum ni Secretary Mamondiong.
Sinabi pa ni Mamondiong na ang Emergency Skills Training Program ay bahagi ng Special Training for Employment Program (STEP) at Training for Work Scholarship Program (TWSP) ng TESDA.
Bukod sa libreng skills training ay ipagkakaloob din ng TESDA sa mga mapalad na mapabibilang sa naturang programa ang free assessment and certification, free starter kit at transportation allowance. ###

TESDA TO LAUNCH EMERGENCY SKILLS TRAINING PROGRAM FOR OFWs
The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) announced that it will launch the “Emergency Skills Training Program” to assist returning overseas Filipino workers (OFWs).
TESDA Director General, Secretary Guiling “Gene” Mamondiong said that returning OFWs may submit their application form starting May 1 so that they may avail of the skills training program.
Apart from returning OFWs, those who will be prioritized in the program are the drug dependents and their families, immediate relatives of policemen or soldiers who died in the line of duty, family members of traffic enforcers and the marginalized sector.
Initial courses to be offered by TESDA during the emergency skills training on May 31 are service engine mechanical components, carpentry, masonry, maintain and repair audio/video products and systems at process food by salting, curing and smoking.
Other training programs of TESDA include cookery, welding, plumbing, electrical installation maintenance and bus/straight truck driving.
