GOLD AT BRONZE MEDAL NASUNGKIT NG PINAS SA INTERNATIONAL SKILLS COMPETITION

Muling pinabilib ng Pilipinas ang buong mundo matapos na masungkit ng ating kinatawan ang gold at bronze medal sa katatapos na 1st China International Skills Competition 2017 (CISC2017) kung saan ay huling sumali ang bansa sa world at international skills competition noon pang 2003.

Kasabay nito, pinuri ni Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Director General, Secretary Guiling “Gene” Mamondiong sina Joven Hayagan na nakakuha ng gold medal sa IT Software Solutions for Business at si Jalanie Dimacaling na nakasungkit naman ng bronze medal para sa Web Design Development.

Aniya, ngayong taon ay idinaos ang CISC2017 na ginanap sa Suzhou at Shanghai, China noong June 5 hanggang June 9 ng kasalukuyang taon na sinalihan ng mahigit sa 400 competitors at experts mula sa 35 bansa na pawang mga World Skills members.

Umabot din sa 21 competition skills at 24 demonstration skills ang pinaglabanan sa CISC2017 kung saan ay dalawang competitors lamang ang isinali ng Pilipinas na kapwa pa pinalad na makakuha ng medalya.

Napag-alaman na bukod sa gold medal na nakuha ni Hayagan sa CISC2017 ay nakapagbigay na rin ito ng karangalan sa bansa tulad ng silver medallist-11thASEAN Skills Competition, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 2016; gold medallist-Philippines National Skills Competition, 2016; gold medallist-Bicol Regional Skills Competition, 2017 habang nag-champion na rin ito sa Province-wide Computer Programming Challenge, 2015.

Samantala, si Dimacaling naman ay nakapag-uwi na rin ng iba’t-ibang karangalan tulad ng bronze medallist-11th ASEAN Skills Competition, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 2016; gold medallist-Philippines National Skills Competition, 2016; gold medallist-Regional Skills Competition, 2015 at gold medallist-Baguio and Benguet Skills Competition, 2015.

Ayon pa kay Mamondiong, layunin ng ginanap na international skills competition na mapaangat ang vocational education at skills ng mga bansa na World Skill members.

“Isang malaking karangalan ang naiuwi ng dalawa nating kababayan at dahil din dito ay naipakita natin sa buong mundo na kaya nating makipagsabayan kung ang pag-uusapan ay ang galing at talino ng mga Pilipino”, pagtatapos pa ni Mamondiong. ###

PHL WINS GOLD, BRONZE MEDALS IN INT’L SKILLS COMPETITION

The Philippines won gold and bronze medals in the 1st China
International Skills Competition 2017 (CISC 2017) held in Suzhou and
Shanghai from June 5 to 9, an event in which the country last
participated in 14 years ago.

Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Director
General, Secretary Guiling “Gene” Mamondiong cited Joven Hayagan who
won a gold medal in the IT Software Solutions for Business and Jalanie
Dimacaling who collected a bronze medal in the Web Design Development.

More than 400 competitors, experts and world skills members from 35
countries took part in CISC 2017.

Up to 21 competition skills and 24 demonstration skills were displayed
during the CISC 2017 event in which the Philippines only sent two
delegates this year.

Hayagan has already given honor to the country through various skills
competitions – silver medallist, 11th ASEAN Skills Competition, Kuala
Lumpur, Malaysia, 2016; gold, Philippines National Skills Competition,
2016; gold, Bicol Regional Skills Competition, 2017; and champion,
Province-wide Computer Programming Challenge, 2015.

Dimacaling has also brought recognition to the Philippines via
different contests – bronze medallist, 11th ASEAN Skills Competition,
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 2016; gold, Philippines National Skills
Competition, 2016; gold, Regional Skills Competition, 2015 and gold, Baguio and Benguet Skills Competition, 2015.

Mamondiong said that the international competition aims to uplift the
standard of vocational education of world skill members.

“This is a big honor for the Philippines after our contestants won
medals in the skills competition. Because of this, we have shown the
world that Filipinos are at par with other nationalities in terms of
talent and skills,” said Mamondiong. ###
