TESDA Region III Empowers Farmers and Fisherfolks with Financial Aid and Training Support at PAFFF Event

On July 12, 2024, TESDA Region III actively participated in the Distribution of Financial Assistance to Farmers, and Fisherfolks (PAFFF) held at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center, City of San Fernando, Pampanga, an initiative under the auspices of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. This event aimed to bolster the agricultural sector by providing crucial support and resources to enhance productivity and sustainability among beneficiaries headed by DDG Felizardo R. Colambo with Regional Director Toni June A. Tamayo.

As part of TESDA’s support during the event, toolkits were distributed to 24 beneficiaries totaling PHP 225,192. These toolkits, which included essential items like plastic pails, weighing scales, and knapsack sprayers, were specifically tailored to support the qualification in raising organic hogs leading to Organic Agriculture Production NC II. This initiative was conducted in collaboration with Sunnyside Training Center and Integrated Farms, Inc.

Simultaneously, TESDA Region III distributed a Training Support Fund amounting to PHP 186,000 to 100 recipients. This fund was allocated to various training programs aimed at enhancing agricultural skills and techniques. Notably, TPKIF Nature’s Farm and St. Isidore “The Farmer” Learning Center, Inc. received support for their programs in Production of High-Quality Inbred Rice and Seed Certification and Farm Mechanization, alongside Agricultural Crops Production NC II.

Moreover, TESDA Region III allocated PHP 2,893,230 for scholarships across four schools, benefitting 100 individuals. This initiative aimed to provide educational opportunities in fields crucial to agricultural development, including Organic Agricultural Production NC II and Production of High-Quality Inbred Rice and Seed Certification and Farm Mechanization.

The distribution of financial assistance, toolkits, and scholarships during the PAFFF event underscored TESDA Region III’s commitment to empowering local farmers, fisherfolks, and their families under the leadership and vision of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. By equipping them with necessary tools and educational opportunities, TESDA aims to foster sustainable agricultural practices and enhance economic resilience within the community.
