Association of Community Based Trainers Recognized as CSO
The CBTAB or the Community- Based Trainers Association of Bulacan was formally recognized as a Civil Society Organization by the Local Government Unit of Guiguinto, Bulacan. This was announced by CBTAB President, Mr. Recaredo Santos as part of his accomplishment report during the CBTAB Year- End Program held last December 20, 2016 at the TESDA Bulacan Conference Room.
At the year- end program, PD Grace Corazon Castillo underscored the important role of the trainers in terms of the two-pronged direction of TESDA as well as the vision of the government as contained in NEDA’s Ambisyon Natin 2040. She announced commitment to continuously provide learning sessions during their quarterly meetings as part of the development program of the trainers. Ms. Emma Santiago, Training Head and representative of PYSEDO Head, Ms. Beth Alonzo, announced the continued strengthening of skills training programs in the province by 2017. She extended the christmas greetings from their office and that of Gov. Willy Alvarado who sent raffle gifts for the trainers.
The CBTAB was first organized by TESDA during the term of RD Nenet dela Cruz when she was still the provincial director of the province back in 2002. Since then, the CBTAB has been an active partner of TESDA and the Provincial Government of Bulacan in the conduct of skills training programs and free services in the different parts of the province. To date, the CBTAB is also registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission and is currently working on its recognition as a CSO at the provincial level. This will give the CBTAB better opportunity to advocate skills training for funding by the local and national government.
