Livelihood Skills Training Programs to be Conducted in Calumpit
Various livelihood skills training programs will be conducted in Calumpit, Bulacan within the month of November 2016. This is in consonance with the Barangay Kasanayan Para sa Kabuhayan at Kapayapaan flagship program of TESDA in partnership with the Local Government Unit of Calumpit under the leadership of Mayor Jessie De Jesus. Through this training collaboration, constituents of Calumpit will be trained along Hairdressing/ Hairstyling, Dressmaking, Shielded Metal Arc Welding NC II, Domestic Appliance Repair, Massage Therapy, Motorcycle Repair, Candy/Jam/ Chocolate Making, Beauty Care/ Spa and Stuffed Toy Making.
The training cooperation was formalized last October 28, 2016 from a meeting conducted at the Mayor’s Office of Calumpit. LGU Calumpit will shoulder the honorarium of the trainers while TESDA Bulacan will shoulder the provision of supplies and materials and cost of assessment. Mayor de Jesus expressed his optimism that these programs can help alleviate the living condition of his constituents as per experience with previous graduates of the Provincial Training Center- Calumpit, which the LGU co-manages with TESDA. He said that many of their graduates at PTC Calumpit are now working abroad with good pay.
These livelihood skills training programs are intended for their solo parents, women, parents from their PTA Federation, out-of-school youths and unemployed adults.
For interested individuals, please proceed to the Mayor’s Office and look for the over- all Coordinator, Municipal Administrator Mylene Pangan for enrolment
