Mass Graduation of Livelihood Programs Held in Calumpit
One hundred and ninety (190) graduates of various livelihood skills training program attended the Mass Graduation held last December 7, 2016 at the Municipal Covered Court of Calumpit. This is a training tie- up of LGU Calumpit under the leadership of Mayor Jessie de Jesus and TESDA Bulacan. The training cooperation is in consonance with the new flagship program of TESDA, the Barangay Kasanayan Para sa Kabuhayan at Kapayapaan under the leadership of TESDA’s Director General, Sec. Guiling “Gene” Mamondiong. The program seeks to empower the barangay towards poverty alleviation thru the provision of skills training for livelihood and employment.
LGU Calumpit shouldered the trainers’ honoraria, basic tool kits and part of the supplies and materials while TESDA shouldered assessment cost and part of the training supplies and materials. Training programs included Hairdressing/ Hairstyling, Chocolate Making, Fruit and Vegetable Processing, Beauty Care, Hand and Foot Reflexology, Motorcycle Repair, Dressmaking, Domestic Appliance Repair, Stuffed Toy Making, Manicure and Pedicure, Solar Night Lamp Making and Shielded Metal Arc Welding NC II. The program on Solar Night Lamp Making and Shielded Metal Arc Welding NC II was sponsored and conducted by TESDA- Provincial Training Center Calumpit under the leadership of Mr. Neil G. Santioque. Mayor de Jesus and PD Grace Castillo in their messages urged the graduates to use their skills for livelihood. Mayor de Jesus expressed appreciation over the partnership with TESDA and expressed intention to continue and even strengthen the cooperation. PD Castillo on the other hand, lauded the leadership of Mayor de Jesus for their continued prioritization of TVET as evidenced by their support to TESDA- PTC Calumpit as well as the community- based training programs funded by his office.
