76 OFWs NABIGYAN NG ASSESSMENT NG TESDA SA RIYADH AT AL KHOBAR

Umabot sa pitumpu’t-anim (76) na Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) na nagtatrabaho sa Middle East ang nabigyan ng onsite competency assessment ng Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) na ginanap sa mismong kinaroroonang bansa ng mga ito.

Sa nasabing bilang, pitumpu (70) ang nabigyan ng sertipiko matapos na pumasa ang mga ito sa assessment na ginanap sa Riyadh at Al Khobar na kapwa matatagpuan sa Middle East kung saan ay umabot sa 92.11% ang certification rate.

Kabilang sa mga qualifications na ito ay ang Computer Systems Servicing NC II na mayroong 100% certification rate; Technical Drafting NC II, 88.89% at Visual Graphic Design NC III, 80.00%.

Sinimulan ang Onsite Assessment Program (OAP) ng TESDA noong April 28 hanggang April 30 ng kasalukuyang taon sa Riyadh at Al Khobar habang nakatakda ding puntahan ang mga OFWs sa Middle East at iba pang bansa upang mapagkalooban ng naturang programa.

Bukod sa OAP ay layunin din ng pagtungo ng mga kinatawan ng naturang ahensiya sa Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) na magkaroon ng pulong at inspeksiyon sa mga gustong magkaroon ng program registration at accreditation bilang TESDA Assessment Centers.

Ayon kay TESDA Director General, Secretary Guiling “Gene” Mamondiong, sa pamamagitan ng OAP ay mabibigyan ng pagkakataon ang mga OFWs na kasalukuyang nagtatrabaho sa ibang bansa na mapaangat ang kanilang mga kasanayan.

“The program seeks to support the goal of bringing the Filipino overseas workers out of low skilled, low paying and oppressive service work, and assist them to land in higher skilled, better paying and decent work” sabi pa ni Mamondiong.

Hinikayat din ng kalihim ang mga OFWs na nagnanais na mapabilang sa OAP na magtungo lamang sa Philippine Overseas Labor Offices (POLO) sa kanilang pinagtatrabahuhang bansa upang mapasama ang pangalan ng mga ito sa online assessment. ###

TESDA GIVES ASSESSMENT TO 76 OFWs IN RIYADH, AL KHOBAR

Up to 76 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) were given on-site competency assessment by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) in the Middle East.

At least 70 OFWs have already received a certificate after they completed the assessment in Riyadh and Al Khobar in the Middle East which earned a certificate rate of 92.11 percent.

Included in the qualifications were Computer Systems Servicing NC II with 100 percent certification rate; Technical Drafting NC II, 88.89 percent and Visual Graphic Design NC III, 80.00 percent.

TESDA launched the Onsite Assessment Program (OAP) in Riyadh and Al Khobar on April 28-30. Later, the same program will commence in other parts of the Middle East and other countries.

OAP aims to find out if a Filipino skilled worker abroad possesses the competencies required in a preferred work.

Also, representatives from TESDA will soon visit the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) to inspect and meet those who wanted to put up program registration and accreditation under the TESDA Assessment Centers.

TESDA Director General, Secretary Guiling “Gene” Mamondiong said that the OAP seeks to uplift OFWs through better and high-paying jobs.

“The program seeks to support the goal of bringing the Filipino overseas workers out of low skilled, low paying and oppressive service work, and assist them to land in higher skilled, better paying and decent work” said Mamondiong.

The TESDA chief also encouraged OFWs interested in on-site assessment to inquire about the program at the Philippine Overseas Labor Offices (POLO) in their respective countries. ###
