TESDA Aurora Holds Virtual Meeting to Address Key Issues in Competency Assessment and Certification
TESDA Aurora conducted a virtual meeting today, September 26, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 noon, engaging over 50 participants from Technical Vocational Institutions (TVIs), Technical Training Institutions (TTIs), and Assessment Centers. The meeting aimed to address key issues and concerns related to the Competency Assessment and Certification Program.
The session commenced with a prayer, followed by the acknowledgment of participants by Ms. Nerissa Barribal, TESDA Aurora’s Competency Assessment and Certification Focal Person. Provincial Director Nomer M. Pascual delivered the Welcome Message, emphasizing the importance of this gathering in discussing pressing matters in the assessment and certification processes.
The meeting’s primary agenda revolved around several crucial topics. First on the list was the scheduling of assessments, a concern that affects competency assessors, Assessment Centers and trainees/candidates alike. This was followed by discussions on the payment of assessors, addressing concerns regarding fair and timely compensation. Another critical issue raised was the status of registered programs with assessment centers that currently lack accredited assessors in the province, specifically in Aurora. The meeting also touched on other matters related to the certification program, encouraging an open dialogue between participants.
A significant outcome of the meeting was the consensus reached regarding the payment structure for assessors, ensuring a clearer, fairer system moving forward. Ms. Barribal concluded the meeting by providing reminders and updates on various program-related matters.
TESDA Aurora remains committed to enhancing the Competency Assessment and Certification Program and addressing the challenges faced by stakeholders in the province, ensuring the continued success of their programs.
