TESDA Central Luzon Partners with Philippine Coast Guard to Enhance Maritime Training
On July 8, 2024, in a significant step towards advancing technical education and strengthening maritime force, TESDA Regional Training Center Central Luzon-Guiguinto, led by Center Chief Rheo Henry Rodriguez, has partnered with the Philippine Coast Guard Fleet in Balagtas, Bulacan.
This partnership was formalized through a ceremonial signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), initiated by TESDA III Regional Director Toni June Tamayo and CG RADM Edgar Ybañez, Commander of the Coast Guard Fleet. The MOA marks a collaborative effort to enhance educational and training programs, fostering a skilled workforce for the maritime industry.
The signing ceremony was held at the Fleet Education Training and Doctrine Development Institute (FETDDI) Coast Guard in Balagtas, Bulacan. It was also attended by key representatives from both organizations, including TESDA Bulacan Provincial Director Melanie Grace Romero, Center Chief Rheo Henry Rodriguez, CG Capt. Roderik Elioran, Acting Commander of FETDDI-CGFLEET; CG LCDR Raquel Colarina, Acting Deputy Commander; CG LTJG Jaje Jeremiah Podrido, Acting Director of FTCE; Mr. Jeffrey Guevarra, Supervising TESD Specialist and Mr. Roderick Alcantara, Partnership and Linkages Focal.
This collaboration extends beyond technical skill enhancement. It also promotes continuous learning and improvement within the Coast Guard by investing in the education and development of their personnel. This empowers them to reach their full potential, contributing more effectively to the mission of safeguarding our nation’s waters. Additionally, this initiative will pave the way for greater career growth and advancement for personnel, ultimately leading to a more robust and capable maritime force.
