TESDA Holds Orientation on Scholarship’s Tendering System
In a Special Meeting by the Bulacan Association of Technical Schools (BATS) held last November 16, 2016 at the Klir Waterpark Resort in Sta. Rita, Guiguinto, Bulacan, TESDA’s new system in the implementation of the Training for Work Scholarship Program (TWSP) was officially introduced to the different institutions offering technical vocational institutions in the province. The special meeting was attended by one hundred and fifteen (115) School Administrators/ Directors/ School Heads and officials.
The meeting started with the opening remarks by the BATS President, Edgardo Santiago. He laid down the agenda for the Special Meeting which includes the tendering system for scholarship, the forthcoming Annual Socio- Cultural Competition to be held in December 2016, membership concerns and other plans and programs like the BATS’ sponsorship for a skills training program for reformists in answer to the request/ encouragement of PD Castillo. Regional Director Francisco B. Jucar, Jr. discussed “Ambisyon Natin 2040”, the administration’s 25- year vision for the country. He called upon the private and public TVI officials to start looking at the vision and aim for program offerings which will support the vision- mission-objectives for the country. PD Grace Corazon C. Castillo on the other hand, discussed the Tendering System of the TWSP. She also emphasized the calendar of activities pertaining to the application for tender and announced that the qualifications identified from the barangay profiling will be posted in the TESDA website, official Facebook page and in the TESDA Bulacan Provincial Office the following day, November 17, 2016, while the submission and evaluation of tenders shall be for the period of Novermber 23- 29, 2016.
After the presentation of the tendering system, an Open Forum followed with RD Jucar and PD Castillo taking turns in clarifying issues. In the end, PD Castillo thanked the BATS officers for their support to TESDA Bulacan’s initiatives.
