TESDA PTC Calumpit Conducts Advocacy Campaign in Support of Ending Violence Against Women and Children

On December 05, 2025, TESDA Provincial Training Center–Calumpit, in collaboration with the Bulacan Manpower and Livelihood Training Center, successfully conducted an advocacy campaign in support of the movement to End Violence Against Women and Children (VAWC). The activity was actively participated in by trainees from various qualifications such as Shielded Metal Arc Welding NC I, Driving NC II, Produce Organic Concoctions and Extracts Leading to Organic Agriculture Production NC II, and Bread and Pastry Production NC II, alongside trainers and institutional staff.

The program aimed to enhance awareness and strengthen understanding of the rights and protection mechanisms available to women and children under the law. This initiative reflects TESDA’s commitment to promoting a safe, respectful, and gender-sensitive training environment. Throughout the VAWC month, PTC Calumpit also showed its continuous support by distributing VAWC information materials and simple treats to all clients.

The session featured an informative discussion led by the invited resource speaker, Atty. Janine Crystal Sayo from Bulacan State University, along with GAD Focal Person Mr. Aries Pasno. The speakers provided a comprehensive orientation on Republic Act 9262, or the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004, emphasizing its legal provisions, the forms of abuse it covers, and the support systems available to victims. They also highlighted the importance of reporting procedures and community awareness in protecting and empowering victims of violence.

Participants were engaged and responsive throughout the seminar, showing genuine interest in the advocacy effort. This event stands as a strong reminder that ending violence begins with education, empowerment, and collective responsibility.
