Bulacan State University Empowers Women: Mentorship Seminar Celebrates Women’s Month by Angelo Madrideo
“Bulacan State University’s Gender and Development Center, in collaboration with the College of Hospitality and Tourism Management, spearheaded an enlightening seminar entitled ‘Empowering Through Mentorship: A Women’s Month Initiative,’ under the banner of ‘Lipunang Patas sa Bagong Pilipinas: Kakayahan ng Kababaihan, Patutunayan!’ This event, held in honor of Women’s Month, served as a platform to delve into profound insights and testimonies aimed at uplifting women in society.
The seminar, gracefully orchestrated by Ms. Dianne Mikko Dela Cruz as the Master of Ceremony, commenced with an opening address by Dean Aimee Grace M. Madlangbayan, leading the College of Hospitality and Tourism Management. A warm welcome message was extended to all participants by Aries Pasno, the Focal Person of GADC, setting a congenial tone for the gathering. The event was further elevated by an Intermission performance by the CHTM Tiger Crew.
Dr. Delma B. Ortega, the Associate Dean of CHTM, conveyed her regards and introduced the esteemed guest speaker, Ms. Melanie Grace Romero, the Provincial Director of TESDA Guiguinto, Bulacan. Ms. Romero, in her compelling address, shed light on the evolution and triumphs of women in society across various domains. With a focus on mentorship, she underscored the pivotal role of empowering women and highlighted TESDA’s initiatives in providing them with indispensable skills for their chosen paths.
Following Ms. Romero’s insightful speech, the audience was treated to another captivating performance by the CHTM Band. The event culminated with heartfelt Closing Remarks by Ms. Lea Rose Vizcarro, the BSTM Program Chairperson, exuding sentiments of modernity, education, and empowerment. Indeed, a celebration of womanhood and progress—’Mabuhay ang mga Babae!’
