“We want the president and the whole country to know that TESDA fully upholds this administration’s stance against drugs and corruption.  We will not tolerate these cancers of society and will exert all efforts to help eradicate them,” sabi pa ni Mamondiong.

TESDA FREE FROM CORRUPTION, ILLEGAL DRUGS

In celebration of its 23rd anniversary, the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) declared in the presence of President Rodrigo Duterte himself that the agency is free from corruption and illegal drugs.

TESDA Director General, Secretary Guiling “Gene” Mamondiong said that TESDA’s declaration is in support of the government’s intensified campaign against illegal drugs and corruption.

“We want the president and the whole country to know that TESDA fully upholds this administration’s stance against drugs and corruption.  We will not tolerate these cancers of society and will exert all efforts to help eradicate them,” said the TESDA chief.

Prior to this, TESDA held the Trainees Day which was attended by more than 2,000 people composed of trainees, employees and other visitors.  They also witnessed the exhibit on memorabilia report standees, the cookery demonstration by Chef Boy Logro, a mobile training laboratory tour and heavy equipment simulator.

Upon his arrival at TESDA, President Duterte was welcomed by Secretary Mamondiong, Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello, and Cabinet Secretary Leoncio Evasco.

Duterte then toured the exhibit area before he proceeded to the program proper where TESDA officials declared that the agency is free from illegal drugs and corruption.

Later, Mamondiong presented to Duterte the major accomplishments of TESDA during his term.

Among those who attended the occasion were TESDA’s Regional Directors, Provincial Directors and school and center administrators of TESDA training institutions.

The affair is an historical one as it was the first time that Duterte visited the agency in Taguig City since he became President in 2016. ###
