SKILLS TRAINING IBINIGAY NG TESDA SA KAANAK NG MGA NASAWING SUNDALO AT PULIS

Nagbigay ng libreng skills training ang Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) sa mga kaanak ng mga tauhan ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) at Philippine National Police (PNP) na nasawi sa operasyon.

Ayon kay TESDA Director General, Secretary Guiling “Gene” Mamondiong, ang pagbibigay ng skills training sa mga kaanak ng mga nasawing sundalo at pulis ay dahil na rin sa nilagdaang Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) ng iba’t-ibang ahensiya ng gobyerno sa Comprehensive Social Benefits Program (CSBP) para sa AFP at PNP personnel.

Bukod sa mga beneficiaries ng mga tinatawag na Killed-in-Action/Killed-in-Police-Operation (KIA/KIPO) ng AFP at PNP ay mabibigyan din ng pagkakataon ang mga Wounded-in-Action/Wounded-in-Police Operation (WIA-WIPO) na pulis at sundalo na magkaroon ng skills training na magmumula sa TESDA.

Napag-alaman pa na ang CSBP ay sinimulan noong February 16 ng kasalukuyang taon sa Koronadal, South Cotabato (Mindanao area), February 24 sa Iloilo City (Visayas area) at March 24 sa Atrium Hotel, Pasay City (Luzon area) na dinaluhan ng regional/provincial directors ng iba’t-ibang ahensiya ng gobyerno kabilang na ang TESDA, Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) at iba pa.

Nitong February 28 nang irekomenda ng DILG sa TESDA ang 88 KIA/KIPO beneficiaries na nagmula sa mga liblib na lugar at iba pang rehiyon sa buong bansa habang posible pa itong madagdagan.

Base sa alituntunin ng CSBP, kabilang sa mga benepisyong makukuha ng mga pulis at sundalo ay ang Special Financial Assistance (SFA) na ibibigay ng dalawang magkasunod. Ang una dito ay ang P250,000 para sa KIA/KIPO habang P100,000 naman sa WIA/WIPO.

Upang makuha naman ang nalalabing P250,000 para sa KIA/KIPO at P150,000 para sa WIA/WIPO ay kinakailangang kompletuhin ng benipisyaryo ang financial literacy training ng Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), entrepreneurship training mula sa DTI at skills training galing sa TESDA.

Dahil dito, nagsagawa ng programa na tinawag na “Special Skills Training for AFP and PNP Battle Casualties and Dependents” ang gobyerno na ginanap sa 1st Division (Tabak) Headquarters, Upper Pulacan, Zamboanga del Sur noong March 27 hanggang 29, 2017 para mapabilis ang pagkuha ng benepisyo ng mga naapektuhang sundalo at pulis kung saan ay dumalo ang 34 participants na kumuha ng training sa TESDA sa kursong Process Food by Smoking. ###

TESDA GIVES TRAINING TO KIN OF SOLDIERS, COPS

The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) gave skills training to family members of Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) personnel who were killed in the line of duty.

TESDA Director General, Secretary Guiling “Gene” Mamondiong said that the skills training is part of the memorandum of agreement (MOA) signed among government agencies under the Comprehensive Social Benefits Program (CSBP) for police and military personnel.

Aside from the beneficiaries of those AFP and PNP personnel who were killed-in-Action/Killed-in- Police-Operation (KIA/KIPO), police and military men who were Wounded-in-Action/Wounded-in- Police Operation (WIA-WIPO) were also given skills training by TESDA.

It would be recalled that the CSBP started in February 16 kicked off in Koronadal, South Cotabato (Mindanao area), February 24 in Iloilo City (Visayas area) and March 24 in Atrium Hotel in Pasay City (Luzon area).

It was attended by regional/provincial directors from various government agencies such as TESDA, Department of Interior and Local Government, Department of Social Welfare and Development, Department of Trade and Industry, and others.

Last February 28, the DILG recommended to TESDA to give skills training to family members of 88 soldiers and policemen who were KIA/KIPO in far-flung places of various regions.

Based on CSBP guidelines, one of the benefits that will be provided is the Special Financial Assistance (SFA) which will be given in two tranches. The first tranche of the SFA shall immediately be given to legitimate KIA/KIPO and WIA/WIPO beneficiaries amounting to P250,000 and P100,000 respectively.

The second SFA tranche, amounting to P250,000 for KIA/KIPO and P150,000 for WIA/WIPO, will be released to beneficiaries upon their completion of the financial literacy training by the BSP, entrepreneurship training from the DTI, and skills training at TESDA.

The government also conducted the Special Skills Training for AFP and PNP Battle Casualties and Dependents at the 1st Division (Tabak) Headquarters, Upper Pulacan, Zamboanga del Sur last March 27-29 for the immediate release of financial assistance. ###
