317 OFWs SA MIDDLE EAST NABIGYAN NG ASSESSMENT NG TESDA
Umabot sa tatlong-daan at labing-pitong (317) Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) na nagtatrabaho sa Middle East ang napagkalooban ng onsite competency assessment ng Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) na ginanap sa mismong kinaroroonang lugar ng mga ito.
Sa nasabing bilang, dalawang-daan at limapu’t-dalawa (252) ang nabigyan ng sertipiko matapos na pumasa ang mga ito sa assessment na ginanap sa iba’t-ibang lugar sa Middle East kabilang na dito ang Riyadh, Al Khobar, Abu Dhabi, Dubai at Jeddah kung saan ay umabot sa 79.49% ang naging certification rate.
Ilan sa mga qualifications na nabigyan ng assessment ay ang Computer System Servicing NC II; Technical Drafting NC II; Visual Graphic Design NC III; Events Management NC III; Food and Beverage Services NC II; Caregiving NC II at Massage Therapy NC II.
Sinimulan ang Onsite Assessment Program (OAP) ng TESDA noong April 28 hangang April 30 ng kasalukuyang taon sa Riyadh at Al Khobar; May 5 at 6 sa Abu Dhabi; May 4 hanggang May 8 sa Jeddah at May 12 at 13 sa Dubai.
Base sa talaan, umabot sa 76 OFWs mula sa Riyadh at Al Khobar ang lumahok sa OAP at 70 sa mga ito ang nabigyan ng sertipiko na mayroong 92.11% certification rate; 112 naman mula sa 130 na nagmula sa Jeddah ang pumasa sa assessment (86.91%) 27 mula sa 39 ang nanggaling sa Abu Dhabi (69.23%) at mula naman sa Dubai 43 sa 72 ang pumasa (59.7%).
Bukod sa pagbibigay ng onsite assessment sa mga OFWs sa Middle East ay nakipagpulong din at nagsagawa ng inpeksiyon ang mga kinatawan ng ahensiya sa mga institusyon na nag-aaplay na magkaroon ng program registration at accreditation bilang TESDA assessment center.
Ayon kay TESDA Director General, Secretary Guiling “Gene” Mamondiong, sa pamamagitan ng OAP ay nagkakaroon ng pagkakataon ang mga OFWs na kasalukuyang nagtatrabaho sa ibang bansa na mapaangat ang kanilang mga kasanayan at makakuha ng mas maayos na hanapbuhay.

317 OFWs IN MIDDLE EAST GET ASSESSMENT FROM TESDA
A total of 317 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) in the Middle East completed their onsite competency assessment under the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) held in various countries in that region.
The Middle East consists of the countries located east of the Mediterranean Sea and west of India. They are Turkey, Syria, Lebanon, Israel, Jordan, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Oman, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Egypt, Libya, and Sudan.
In that region, 252 OFWs received certificates of completion after they passed the assessment held in Riyadh, Al Khobar, Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Jeddah where it got 79.49 percent certification rate.
Some of the qualifications given assessment were courses such as Computer System Servicing NC II; Technical Drafting NC II; Visual Graphic Design NC III; Events Management NC III; Food and Beverage Services NC II; Caregiving NC II and Massage Therapy NC II.
The Onsite Assessment Program (OAP) of TESDA kicked off in Riyadh and Al Khobar last April 28-30, 2017.Then it proceeded to Abu Dhabi where the same program was held in Jeddah on May 5-6; Jeddah, May 4-8; and the in Dubai, May 12-13.
Records showed that 76 OFWs from Riyadh and Al Khobar took part in the OAP while 70 of them received certificates, giving 92.11 percent certification rate.
In Jeddah, 112 out of 130 passed the assessment (86.91 percent certification rate); 27 out of 39 from Abu Dhabi passed (69.23 percent certification rate) and 43 out of 72 also passed (59.7 percent) from Dubai.
Apart from the onsite assessment of OFWs in the Middle East, representatives from TESDA met officials and conducted inspection in areas which applied for program registration and accreditation as the agency’s assessment center.
TESDA Director General, Secretary Guiling “Gene” Mamondiong said that the OAP aims to determine if the OFWs possess the competencies required in a preferred work.
