TESDA Region III Administrator’s Meeting

On February 27, 2024, the Provincial Training Center-Calumpit hosted the TESDA Region III Administrator’s Meeting, spearheaded by Regional Director Toni June Tamayo. This gathering brought together twelve administrators representing various TESDA Technology Institutions (TTIs) in Central Luzon, alongside delegates from the Regional Office and Provincial Directors Renato Dela Cruz of Zambales and Melanie Grace Romero of Bulacan. The session was skillfully moderated by PTC-Calumpit Center Administrator Mr. Renato Salas.

The agenda began with discussions regarding the formulation of training strategies for Bookkeeping NC III, as mandated by Republic Act No. 11768, also known as the SK Reform Act of 2015. This law requires SK Treasurers to undergo a bookkeeping course from TESDA and obtain the necessary certification before assuming office.

Additionally, Regional Director Toni June Tamayo elaborated on and reiterated strategies aimed at fostering industry partnerships. He emphasized TESDA Region III’s commitment to expanding enterprise-based training and supporting the employability of TVET graduates by strengthening Apprenticeship Programs.

Meanwhile, a scheduled signing of the Memorandum of Agreement took place between the host PTC Calumpit and DepEd Calumpit Central School, represented by Ms. Abigail Mercado, Alternative Learning System (ALS) coordinator. This signing marked the joint initiative and commitment of both parties to produce highly competitive graduates equipped with skills and certifications.

The Local Government Unit of Calumpit, headed by Hon. Glorime Faustino and represented by its Municipal Administrator Ms. Bernadette Cruz, also participated in the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement for Supervised Industry Learning (SIL). This initiative, dedicated to the Engineering Department, aims to enhance the knowledge and skills of PTC Calumpit’s welding and electrical qualification graduates.
